Is the CHI Ceramic Flat Iron (Turbo, 2';) a good starightener?

What are some pros and cons of it? if it helps, i have very thick frizzy wavy-ish hair...i had a hot tools ceramic and it was ok but not great...please only answer if you actually have used it or know for sure its a good or bad straightener.

thanks!!!Is the CHI Ceramic Flat Iron (Turbo, 2';) a good starightener?
OMG! i love it.

It works wonders, heats up quickly and de-frizzes all hair. I've dropped mine a ton of times and its super durable. I like the CHI better then the hot tools ceramic, but idk that's me :)

I would recommend it for anyone. Is the CHI Ceramic Flat Iron (Turbo, 2';) a good starightener?
My cousin has that. :] She got it for her birthday and says it's her best gift. (I don't know any of the details, but...)
I would say that one does your hair faster because its wider but i dont think its any better than a one inch and im pretty sure theTurbo 2 costs more
I absolutely love my Chi :)

Mines a 1 inch though.

Its expensive but its definitely worth it.
Ooo I have that one! It has pretty red velvet :D

I think mine's a one inch though. You will be pleased with it though :]
It works great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my hair is thick and frizzy too and it tams it down

Your opinion on the Original Chi Ceramic Flat Iron 1';?

i was thinking of getting it. right now i have a black conair 2'; flat iron.. so i was wondering if a 1'; would be way too small? im sorta on a budget and thats why im not planning on getting the BIG CHI.. cause its like $135.00. and i would be using the chi 44 iron guard.. so would you suggest the Original Chi Ceramic Flat iron 1'; or not? OH. and i have a little more than shoulder length, curly/wavy hair. its sorta thick. when i straighten it with my conair.. it takes about 25 to 35 min. or so. thx (:Your opinion on the Original Chi Ceramic Flat Iron 1';?
I had a conair, in took me about 2-3 hours to straighten my hair, b/c my hair is thick, curly and I have A LOT of it. I have a Baby Blitz Nano Titanium, it takes me about 25 min. to straighten it now. You can find it on the internet for roughly $100, which is a lot, but I just got mine, it was my friends 1st hair strightener, she got it when she was 12, she is now 17, and it still works great. If I were you, I wouldnt go with a CHI, this strighter is durable and it works, plus it dosnt fry your hair.

The Chi is the best i've used, i have really curly hair and it gets pretty humid in TN.

It gets really hot and the ceramic smooths my hair out really well.

If your hair isnt terribly curly then you can get by just fine w/ a cheaper straightener.CHI ceramic flat iron (Turbo, 2';)......give a review?
i have used the good ole original chi flat iron for over 4 years. i love it!! as long as it's a good ceramic iron, you are okay. the original chi, the superstar.....either of those are nice.
    waste of money
Don't spend huge amounts of money on a Chi. I've used every straightener out there, and you get the same results from a flatiron from HairArt that you would from Chi. The one I have cost me 80 bucks, which is way cheaper than a Chi. It works the same, I guarantee it. Can I get a CHI ceramic flat iron for cheap? If so, where?

my idea of cheap is about $30. i know i probably can't get a chi for that cheap so i don't really know why i'm asking this question. i mean you never know. it might be possible.......Can I get a CHI ceramic flat iron for cheap? If so, where?
I recently saw them at Tuesday Morning. I remember thinking they were really cheap but not sure exactly how much they were. If you don't have one near you, you could probably call and ask the price and whether or not they could mail it to you.Can I get a CHI ceramic flat iron for cheap? If so, where?
You'll have much better luck if you ask this in another category like beauty and hair care.

This is a category for home redecorating.

I'd save your best bet would be craigslist.com, or maybe a garage sale.

It would either have to be used, broken or needing repair to be that cheap.

You definitely wont be able to get a new one for that price.

But good luck! In all honesty, they are great while they last but I've went through two of them so far. They always short out on me.

The wires aren't very good for how expensive they are. I would able to return them to the company IF I had kept the receipts. So if you do get one, just don't wrap the cord around it after you're done and it has cooled. I was told this is what messes up the cord :/ I wont buy another one because two broke on me in less than 6 months.
Check out Folica.com's Black Friday deal this week (The deal is just about few days) I heard they have 35% off all product, not sure it will go down till $30, but you will get it in more affordable price.

It is AHMAZING IT SAVED MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the 1 inch but I assume the 2 inch would work just as good

    PROS

    - it heats up in seconds

    - it leaves your hair nice and silky with salon results

    - it is much quicker %26amp; cuts your normal time in half or more! (it used to take me 57 minutes exactly and now it only kaes me 17!)

    - It won't curl at ALL; good for the WHOLE day

    CONS

    - It only has one heating setting: 370 degrees!!!! =o it is VERY hot and it can easily burn your hair. Since you have thick hair it will be just fine for you though, but make sure that you don't hold it in one spot for more then 5 seconds

    - If you drop it once, it is pretty much bashed up on that side. It is like more delacite then glass. I dropped mine 3 times and there are 3 scuff marks, but it still works like new! =]

    - The wire is not strong at all - do NOT wrap it around the iron when not in use

    - It is VERYYYYYY pricey ($100-$120)-- but totally worth it

    * GET IT! IT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE LIKE IT SAVED MINE*Is the CHI Ceramic Flat Iron (Turbo, 2';) a good starightener?
i think it works very well..but i have pretty straight hair...its very quick and lasts the whole day (also, it doesnt fry my hair! yess!) lol ... my friend also uses it and she has verrry curly hair..and it works great! it lasts the whole day (even if the weather sucks) ..

i no it is expensive..but i think it is worth the extra cash :)
It's great use it quickly it works fast and be sure you use heat products with it to avoid scorching your hair I think it's one of the best

Need opinion...should buy a chi ceramic flat iron or are the new ceramics w/ tourmaline better/less damaging?

Yeah ceramic irons are supposed to be the best straighteners that gives a great look with less damage, but my hair is sensitive and need to know which irons are bestNeed opinion...should buy a chi ceramic flat iron or are the new ceramics w/ tourmaline better/less damaging?
Personally I prefer FHI tourmaline flat iron I think it is the best flat iron out there, if you use a flat iron correctly you can use it everyday and not damage the hair. You have to use the right temperature for your hair fine hair lowest setting strong healthy thick coarse hair heaviest setting and you want to always use a heat protectant when using a straight iron. I'm not a fan of using the straight iron on wet to dry hair I feel you should always dry the hair first than straighten it.Need opinion...should buy a chi ceramic flat iron or are the new ceramics w/ tourmaline better/less damaging?
If you're gonna spend money on a chi, you should try and find the new Paul Mitchell flat iron.... it's awesome and makes your hair feel like silk!!!!

It's plates are ceramic but one side has grippers that hold on to your hair (but don't pull it) and they're ionic infused so it helps your hair stay straighter longer.... plus it has a heat setting dial so if you have sensitive hair you can turn it down! i think the highest setting is 400 and the lowest is 150. It also has a blocker in the middle so the blades won't slide and mess with the wiring and cause a short like the chi's do. AND.... normally it only takes one go over your hair to make it straight.... you don't have to keep going over it and over it to get it straight!!!!
any heat even from the blow dryer isnt great for your hair...i recommend either iron because they are both ceramic the chi's are great...BUT go to your local salon and splurge on a heat protectant..they usually come in and aerosol form and are sprayed onto each section of hair after dried and before ironing...this will protect your hair from the heat...
go on google and search it i see alot of comericals about hot rollers but i forgot the name my cousin has a really good one ill come back to u tomorrow when i get the name
no matter what iron you use it always damages the hair. get heat protected serum and stuff

i have very thick, heavy, long stright hair, i want to do something different like curls. Who is the best between these to flat irons??Who is the best to curl the hair CHI Ceramic Flat Iron or True Ceramic Pro?

  • How good is the CHI Ceramic Flat Iron 1'; ?

i have frizzy hair ... is this straightener good for me..... i'm thinking of buying one ... and its pretty cheap $73 ....... it's real so no worrys about that ......How good is the CHI Ceramic Flat Iron 1'; ?
The Chi straightener is good, but I hope you're not expecting it to completely eliminate frizz because you'd be disappointed. Let me point this out, no straightener gets rid of frizz. In fact, straighteners just increase the frizz amount because they create breakage over prolonged use. If you're talking strictly for straightening, the Chi is an excellent choice (make sure to use a heat protectant). How good is the CHI Ceramic Flat Iron 1'; ?
Use it everyday. LOVE IT! It maitains your style plus shine.... Could not live without it. Plus it does everything so you wont need a need a curling iron or a krinker,

Biosilk Ergonomic Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron or Chi Ceramic Flat Iron, which controls frizz better?

As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

    In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd and Chameleon. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Remington, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap drugstore brands that tend to cause hair damages. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

=== Flat Iron Hair Straighteners FAQ ======

Q: What size should I choose?

A: For most people, 1';, 1-1/4'; or 1.5'; are all good choices. If you have very thick, coarse, long or ethic hair, bigger size (1.5'; or 2';) will save you some time. If you have thin, fine hair, get a smaller one (1'; or 3/4';).

Q: What temperature should I should on my hair?

A: Based on my expereince, 380F is the average temperature to use. If you hair is thick and coarse, bump it up a bit, if you hair is fine or overprocessed, start it at somewhere 300F, and try it. If the setting does not work well for you, increase a bit until you get a setting that works well for you but does not burn your hair. Trial and error.

I have a phi (just as nice and expensive as chi) 1 inch ceramic and the highet setting is 450*.Does someone know the temperature range on a Chi Ceramic flat iron 2';?
The best place to buy a CHI Flat Iron is at a salon. Make sure to talk with the professionals there (I'm a hairdresser). They will be able to give you the answers to all your questions, hopefully. I believe a CHI flat iron ranges up to 400*. I own a CHI and I LOVE IT! But other another good Iron that is comparable to the CHI is the Paul Mitchell Flat Iron. That has a temperature guage on it, and it works just as great. Just let me know if you have any more questions.
All Chi's are different it really depends on what series they are, but typically some mostly max out at 450 degree F best place to buy it is ebay...
my chi goes up to 350...
